Imagine Fox Cities (IFC) is a community visioning initiative aiming to advance the Well-Being of Our Place and the Well-Being of Our People by creating the conditions for everyone who calls this place home the opportunity to reach their full potential. We dare to imagine, and endeavor to realize, a shared future that leads to greater flourishing—for this generation and the next.

IFC is working to help realize the IFC Living Vision through a spring launch and summertime dialogues and events, culminating in a regional convening in late summer 2022. An important component of this effort includes co-creating works of art that further the Living Vision’s pillar of belonging. Belonging, as defined by the IFC Vision is: Feeling part of a community, embraced for who you are and valued for what you bring.

We are asking community partners of the Fox Cities to submit spaces that are “shovel ready” to receive an art installation in Summer 2022. Additionally we are asking local artists to further the message of belonging through mural and sculpture art throughout the Fox Cities, and youth artists enrolled in high school or college to contribute with murals. We plan to match up to nine artists with “shovel ready” spaces, pairing artist and sites no later than June 1st, 2022.

For the purposes of this initiative, art is defined as a mural or sculpture installation and will embody the theme of “belonging.” Parameters for both these mediums include:

MURALS:

  • On clean wall space no larger than 50’ x 12’ and one story in height to be paired with an adult artist.
  • On clean wall space no larger than 10′ x 10′ and on story in height to be paired with a youth artist.
  • Clean is defined as a power washed space constructed of block, brick, or another flat surface. Walls must be structurally sound with no loose paint or water damage present.
  • Murals can be completed with a variety of media and are encouraged to include sensory components for an interactive and inclusive art experience for all.

SCULPTURE:

  • Will be placed on concrete bases no smaller than 5’x5’ and no larger than 5’x8’.
